Education
"We need to understand what’s going wrong with the world and try and prevent it. Our future is in our hands! Sustainable development is looking after the world for future generations".
Under the National Cirriculum, pupils should be offered the opportunity to recognise the importance of sustainability in scientific and technological developments. This expands their understanding that human activity and natural processes can lead to changes in the environment.
Sustainability is about meeting the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs, including exploration of issues of energy conservation, renewable energy resources and environmental pollution.
Our collection of lesson plans and resources are designed to help teachers offer pupils meaningful cirriculum opportunities on these topics. Through cirriculum opportunities, pupils enhance their engagement with the concepts, processes and content of the subject.
"I’ve enjoyed learning about energy and how to save it. It’s important because when we save energy, we save money and reduce our emissions, so everyone wins!"
